The School Year
Semester System:
Semester 1 – September-January

Homeroom:
Each student starts the day in their Morning Block Homeroom class. In Homeroom, the teacher will begin the day in a devotional activity and prayer before reading announcements. After this 5-10 minute community-building time together to begin the day, teachers will begin instruction.

Attendance
Attendance:
Attending classes is a privilege and a responsibility. Attendance at classes is important and crucial for success in a course. The classroom experience cannot be duplicated. At the beginning of their courses, the subject teachers will inform the students about individual policies regarding absences for a test or project due date. Students are considered to be absent if they are not present for a scheduled class and not gone for a school related activity (field trip, school sporting events). If more than 15 classes are missed in a course, it may be difficult for a student to achieve the course expectations. Hence, the course credit may be in jeopardy.
For more information, please reference this Attendance Policy.
Absences:
If students are absent for part or all of the day, their parent(s) are asked to create a planned absence in Edsby before 8:30; this notification will be seen by the school office. No student who is ill or injured should leave school without the knowledge or permission of the office staff. If students need to leave the school during regular classes for any reason other than illness, they must bring a parental note to the office, or have a parent phone or email the office.
Students eighteen years of age or older may sign themselves out of classes or study periods provided that the student has been given parental permission to do so. There must be a letter on file in the office stating that the parent(s) give written permission for the student to sign out.

Assemblies
Assemblies are an important way for our students and staff to build the Christ-centred community and develop our culture at London Christian High. Assemblies are key communal gathering times that foster faith formation and deepen the shared vision that we have at London Christian High.
Lockers
Lockers are provided to each student for the entirety of the school year and are assigned in late August by the office. Students should be mindful of the state of their lockers and keep all of their books, clothing, gym bags, etc. tucked tidily inside. We encourage students to keep valuables at home and not in their lockers. Students may choose to lock their lockers with a lock brought from home or purchased from the school office.
Food Services
London Christian High does have a hot lunch food service 5 days per week. Lunch is available for pre-order on this website (which can be found in the Edsby launchpad as well) and for daily purchase. Note: Without a pre-order, the food is first-come, first-served. Cash, debit, credit, and e-gift cards are accepted.
Picture Day
Student picture day will be communicated through the weekly Next@LCH communication and via daily announcements. Students may choose to purchase a package of photos, if desired. While purchasing student pictures is not required, all students will have their photos taken for both Student Cards and to be included in our yearbook.
Lost & Found
If an item has been misplaced, it may be in the Lost and Found box in the Atrium. Valuables are normally brought to the office and held indefinitely. The school is not responsible for lost and found items.
Grade 9s on Property
All Grade 9 must remain on school property during the school day.
Grade 10s off Property
Grade 10 students are permitted to go off property after a conversation with the VP and completing a signed form. Stay tuned for more information to come during the first week of school and in the weekly Next@LCH communication.
LCH Spiritwear
Students’ Council takes orders for LCH Spiritwear once or twice a year. Order forms are made available to students on Edsby and are made available to parents through the Next@LCH.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Privacy and confidentiality of our students and families is of utmost importance to us at London Christian High. Student information will not be shared without express permission from parents. Parents wishing to make changes to the permission provided on the Admissions Application may contact the school office.
For more information, please reference this Privacy Policy.
Get Involved: Parents
We often need in-person volunteers in many different areas: class speakers, trip chaperones, parent coaches, and helping with fundraising activities (ex. golf tournament).
